Continuing the previous post about Blogger’s post editor, we will discuss all about Blogger’s Old Post Editor. By knowing all functions of blogger’s post editor, you will be able to maximize the tools provided at the old post editor.
To activate the Old post editor, follow these steps: Login → dashboard → Settings → Basic, on the bottom of page, Select post editor. End with SAVE SETTINGS.
Explanation:
( 1 ) Title: This field is to type the title of article you are going to write.
( 2 ) Edit HTML : This tab is to switch Editor from Compose to HTML mode. If you are not familiar with HTML codes and coding, do not use this editor mode.
( 3 ) Compose : Type your articles in this mode because this editor mode has supported WYSIWYG (WhatYou See Is What You Get), so you do not have to understand HTML language codes. Just type your articles there because the results displayed on your blog will be the same as you have typed. If you do not know much about HTML codes, you had better choose this editor mode.
( 4 ) Font : This is to choose the fonts you would like the most. The available fonts are:
- Arial
- Courier
- Georgia
- Lucida Grande
- Times
- Trebuchet
- Verdana
- Webdings
( 5 ) Font size : To change font size of your writing, which are divided into:
- Smallest
- Small
- Normal
- Large
- Largest
( 6 ) Bold : To bold one or more words that you think important.
( 7 ) Italic : To italicize one or more words that you think it should be italic.
( 8 ) Font color : To change the font color as you desire.
( 9 ) Link : To change or add links to texts.
( 10 ) Left-Justify : to justify the text to the left of the page.
( 11 ) Center : to justify the text horizontally to the center of the page.
( 12 ) Right-Justify : to justify the text to the right of page.
( 13 ) Full-Justify : to justify the text to the left and right of page.
( 14 ) Ordered ( Numbered ) List : to format an ordered list using numbers or letters.
( 15 ) Unordered (bullet) List: to format an ordered list using bullet ( default ).
( 16 ) Blockquote : to quote text or sentence or paragraph in posts.
( 17 ) Spell check : to check the spelling of your articles.
( 18 ) Add Image : to upload images from hard disk to your blog.
( 19 ) Add Video : to upload videos from hard disk to your blog.
( 20 ) Remove formatting from selection : to remove from the selected texts.
( 21) Preview : to view the display of your article before you publish it.
( 22 ) Post Options : In default, the post options is closed, just click it to view the post options.
( 23 ) Label Form : the field to type labels or categories of your articles. With this, your articles in the same sense can be given the same label, e.g. holidays, scooters, etc.
( 24 ) Reader Comments: to activate or deactivate the comment box. “Allow” is to activate the comment box so that visitors or readers can give their comments. “Do not allow” is to deactivate the comment box if you do not want your visitors or readers give their comments.
( 25 ) Publish Post : the button to publish your articles to your blog. Don’t do it until you are sure that your articles are ready to publish. Click on Preview to ensure you that the articles are really ready to publish. (See point 20).
( 26 ) Save Now : to save your articles while you are editing them so that what you have done to the articles will not lose when something error or the connection is down. Although there has been an auto save feature for a particular interval provided by Blogger, you had better do it yourself because you know when you should save your articles. The saved articles that have not been published will be stored in the draft.
